Well, Movie kickstarts with a Horse race and Mukesh Rushi losses everything in it. To get back his lost charisma, he rely on his son Mahendra Reddy (Jagapathi Babu).
Mahendra Reddy lives away from his father with his beloved son Siddu (Sai Dharam Tej). Siddu is Mahendra Reddy's world and Mukesh Rushi doesn't like it. with some dark and weird plan, Mukesh Rushi creates hatred in Siddu's mind against his father Mahendra Reddy. At the age of 5, Siddu runs away from his father and grows up hating his father and horse riding.
Years later, He challenges Aadi (Thakur Anoop Singh), who act as Mahendra Reddy's Son and wishes to marry his girl-friend Sitara (Rakul Preet Singh), to win the horse race. How did Siddu wins the horse riding race is rest of the story.
Sai Dharam Tej is very much apt for the film, The horse riding concept and overall story suits his body language. His makeover for this film and horse riding episodes are very entertaining. He carried the whole film on his shoulders and his role is one of the major highlights in the film.
Rakul Preet Singh is glamorous in this film. She will be visual treat for mass audiences. Her character is strong and she portrayed her role with ease.
Jagapathi Babu character is another highlight in the film. Though Sai Dharam Tej carried the whole film on his shoulder, whole movie revolves around Jagapathi Babu's role. Father and son scenes are very emotional and every father and son will connect with the film.
Mukesh Rushi character is very gripping, Thakur Anoop Singh role is very energetic and we can say that Tollywood got energetic Young villain. Ali, Vennela Kishore and Prudhvi comedy episodes are hilarious. Mass audiences will love the comedy scenes. Anasuya Bharawaj did a special number in this film and Rana Daggubati lend his voice. Others did as required.
Coming technicians, SS Thaman's music is one of the major highlight in this film. Songs are good to hear but picturization could have been better. Background score is in sync with the scenes. Chota K Naidu's cinematography is crystal clear. Every frame has a story to tell. Other than Horse riding concept, whole story is routine with all commercial elements. Veligonda Srinivas tried to bring a fresh tale on Silver Screen. Abburi Ravi and Sridhar Seepana's dialogues are good with the scenes. Production values are high and lot of money was spent while making. Screenplay is gripping but predictable. Gopichand Malineni done a decent job and delivered a decent commercial entertainer film.
Winner is a Pakka commercial entertainer film with family emotions. It's a costly film with high commercial values. Comedy episodes in the first half will surely entertain common audiences. Prudhvi's scoop comedy and Ali's horse riding comedy episodes are damn good.
Chemistry between the lead actors is not up to the mark. Love angle is completely missing in second half. Horse riding scenes are very good and climax is gripping.
Overall, Sai Dharam Tej's energy levels, Rakul Preet Singh glamour, Comedy track, Thakur Anoop Singh's villainy shades, Father and son relationship and horse riding concept, all together, Winner is a pakka commercial entertainer film. Mass audiences will love this film.
